Things to keep in mind during the NSE...
- There are 2 parts to the exam. Achievement and Proficiency
- The achievement test measures your skills in vocabulary and grammar. The proficiency test measures your skills in reading and listening.
- The are no longer spelling of numbers on the exam. Yay!
- The proficiency test will have only 28 questions. It used to be longer...
- You may use a scrap piece of paper to jot notes during the exam. You can write notes during the listening comprehension or as you translate readings. I highly suggest using it.
- You may not use any notes, translators or open any other applications during the exam or you will be disqualified.
- You have 40 minutes to take each test. You may have extended time if needed.
- No teacher ID # is required (as you may see on the practice tests).
- When you finish, I will immediately receive your score. This score is called your "raw score". In May we will see how we rank and what percentile and awards you might receive. The score might curve. It depends on how the other students do.
- Typically my students perform much higher than the national average.
- Students that receive lower than a 50% on the NSE will not be recommended to take Spanish II Honors.
- Your exam score does count as real grade and will be averaged with your other 4th quarter grades.
- The exam is not easy and we are competing against some very competitive schools that take much pride and take the exam very seriously.
- Remember that we are McNick! We are the very best and don't forget it!!!
- Nothing is impossible with God and we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
- Do your best, no regrets! Give a 100%
